  • FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship live streaming

    The 18th edition of the FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship is underway with Poland hosting the tournament for the first time.

    Warsaw is one of seven hosts cities alongside Wroclaw, Katowice, Gdansk, Kraków, Lódz and Bydgoszcz, with the final set to be held in Katowice on September 21.

    World No. 1 Brazil came into the event as three times defending champions but the South Americans will face some tough opposition from the likes of Russia, Italy and a resurgent USA if they are to make in four-in-a-row.

  • CEV Champions League

    The CEV Champions League is Europe's premier club volleyball competition for both men's and women's teams on the continent.

    In the men's competition, 24 teams take part in the first round divided into 6 Pools of four teams. The top two teams in each group and the best third placed side advance to the knockout round which ends in a final four stage held in March.

    The women's competition kicks off with 20 teams competing in five groups of four. Again, the first two teams in each group and the best third advance to the knockout stages of the competition and battle for places at the season end final four tournament.

  • FIVB World Tour

    FIVB World Tour – Moscow Grand Slam

    The FIVB World Tour heads to Russia with the Moscow Grand Slam. This is the eighth stop of the tour this season and the double-gender event will take place at the Vodniy Stadium from August 21 to 25. There will be new champions in both the men's and women's events this year. Defending men's champions Alison Cerutti and Emanuel Rego will compete in the upcoming tournament but will have different partners. The former world champions from Brazil decided to part ways as they are no longer in contention to win the World Tour crown this season.


    Women's champions Chen Xue and Zhang Xi of China, meanwhile, opted not to take part in this year's tournament. Among the teams to watch in the men's event in the upcoming Moscow Grand Slam are World Tour leaders Pedro Solberg Salgado and Bruno Oscar Schmidt of Brazil and their compatriots Ricardo Alex Costa Santos and Alvaro Morais Filho. Other top contenders are Corrientes leg champions Janis Smedins and Aleksandrs Samoilovs of Latvia and reigning world champions Alexander Brouwer and Robert Meeuwsen of the Netherlands. Leading the field in the women's division are Brazilians Taiana Lima and Talita Da Rocha Antunes, who have already won five Grand Slam titles this season. Challenging them for the title are fellow Brazilians Maria Clara and Carolina Solberg Salgado and Liliane Maestrini and Barbara Seixas De Freitas.  Carrying the hopes of the host nation are Evgenia Ukolova and Ekaterina Khomyakova, who topped this year's Anapa Open.

  • Coop Beach tour

    The Coop Beach Tour, meanwhile, heads to Rorschach this week. The sixth stop of the Swiss-based tour will take place from August 22 to 25. The squads to watch in the men's competition are Alexei Prawdzic and Mirco Gerson and Sebastian Chevallier and Mats Kovatsch. The favorites in the women's event are Muriel Graessli and Romana Kayser and Nicole Eiholzer and Isabelle Forrer.
